2020 Surfing the Internet is a world-building, interactive 3D project about various kinds of poor images on the internet, from static memes and low-resolution short videos to tawdry commercial images and manipulated self-images. It is presented using the format of a video game where different events are happening in three theme scenes that form a segmented narrative exploring issues like accessibility, democracy, mass reproduction, culture conflict, self-identity and consumerism. Inspired by my observation of internet images, the goal of this project is to explore and document the experience of surfing the internet and prompt critical thinking and discussion about poor internet images to take place.
