My works deal with the themes of desire and fascination. My art in ceramics also allows me to examine personal subjects such as my Indigenous heritage, body image, and mental health, while aiming to produce pieces that are also relatable to others. With the work entitled You Want a Piece of Me? I pushed myself to create a sculpture that could fool the eye at first glance by recreating every detail of a three-tiered strawberry chocolate cake to the best of my abilities. This piece was created as a way of exploring my relationship with food and with the intention to evoke certain feelings for the viewer.
