Gord Peteran: Borderline Case

Monday, November 16, 2009, 4:30pm

A program of Gord Peteran: Furniture Meets its Maker

An Art with Insight talk featuring Glenn Adamson

The talk will consider this apt description of Peteran’s shifting position within the conventional categories of contemporary art, design, decorative art and craft. Focusing on one of the artist’s works – A Table Made of Wood, from 1999 – Adamson will show how this major retrospective tracks Peteran’s “progressing interest in the confusing aspects of everyday life, captured and examined through art: time’s passage, the limitations of language, and the fundamentals of human interaction.”
