Scotiabank Nuit Blanche 2008: Vehicle

University of Toronto Art Centre
Vehicle is a multi-car, multi-artist exploration of the aesthetic possibilities of the car as a site of community contact. Inside and outside of UTAC viewers will discover interactive parking art, car art galleries, trampoline-activated Second Life bodies, custom-built Xbox games, and architectural intervention. The car setting encourages experimentation and welcomes unlikely participants and unanticipated mergings. Artists Yasunori Aoki, Barbara Balfour, David Court, Sunny Kerr, Yam Lau, Esther Lee, Andrew McAllister, Emily Mclennan, Stephanie Shepherd, Scott Sorli, Josh Thorpe, Flavio Trevisan, Alyssa Tsang, and Tania Ursomarzo join with The Toronto Subaru Club, WayUpWayDown and UTAC to explore the car as an exhibition venue that forges new communities of creative practice.
Our Supporters
We gratefully acknowledge the project support of the Ontario Arts Council, the Toronto Arts Council, UofT ArtsZone, and the Department of Computer Science at the University of Toronto.
