Wednesday, June 27, 2018, 10:30pm
An experimental aquatic lecture series that is part performance-lecture, part research-creation and part socially engaged art.By turning the pool into a lecture space Swimming Lessons seeks to explore the entangled, material and intra-active enmeshments between water, bodies and knowledges, encouraging sensory exploration and immersive learning experiences.
The Swimming Lessons lecture series is co-organized by Julia Rombough (PhD, History Department) and Aubyn O’Grady (MA CSTD, OISE). In conversation with O’Grady, the curator of Learning from the Lake has invited Astrida Neimanis and Beth Stuart to lead sessions as a part of the graduating exhibition, Learning from the Lake at the Justina M. Barnicke Gallery.
