The Hart House Gala of the Century

On November 12, 2019, Hart House will officially mark its 100th birthday with a grand dinner celebration.

A joyous reception in the dazzling Quadrangle will be followed by an opening ceremony in the Great Hall, brief remarks by some of our distinguished special guests and an unforgettable musical performance by mezzo-soprano Marion Newman. Then, all eyes will focus on the unveiling of the Hart House Centennial Art Commission: a public sculpture by artists Rebecca Belmore and Osvaldo Yero entitled Adoopoowiningemuh Waabandizo (seeing yourself at the table) – working title. This transformative addition to the Great Hall marks the beginning of a second century at Hart House where we hope all students will see themselves reflected in the work and spaces of this life-changing community.

The celebration continues across four stunning dining rooms where guests will enjoy a delicious feast prepared by Hart House Executive Chefs Marco Tucci (“Hart House Events”) and Suzanne Baby (“Gallery Grill”) before returning to the Great Hall for a lavish dessert reception featuring the delightful sounds of the Hart House Jazz Ensemble under the baton of conductor Ernesto Cervini.

Come together with generations of students, alumni and friends both new and old to remember the past, celebrate the present, and envision an even brighter future at Hart House.  It promises to be a night to remember.
