The University of Toronto Collegium Musicum Baroque Ensemble

Directed by Tafelmusik founding member and Baroque specialist – Ivars Taurins, the Collegium Musicum Baroque Ensemble is a practical course which focuses on the study and performance of 17th-and 18th-century orchestral repertoire from an historically aware perspective, using period instruments. The objective is to bring new life to music of the baroque period through the appreciation of historically-informed performance as a key to understanding the musical language of different ages.
