The lecture was held on the occasion of Carrie Mae Weems’ five-part exhibition for CONTACT 2019, the artist’s first solo presentation in Canada. Included are: Heave at the Art Museum, curated by Barbara Fischer and Sarah Robayo Sheridan; and Blending the Blues at CONTACT Gallery, Scenes & Take at TIFF Bell Lightbox, Slow Fade to Black at Metro Hall, and Anointed at 460 King St W, each curated by Bonnie Rubenstein.
